Situated in the heart of the Lowveld, Gecko House gives you the opportunity to get up close to some of South Africa's incredible wildlife!
We believe that we have something very special here and we would like to tell you about it.
Gecko is a stunning, well furnished, three bedroom "bush feel" house and because of its very large mezzanine floor has a sleeping capacity of at least 10.
Situated within ten minutes drive of Hoedspruit town which is well served with shops, petrol stations, restaurants and doctors. It is only half an hour from the local airport (Eastgate) where there is good car hire facilities.
The house is within a private game reserve with security protocol for entering and exiting the estate.
The kitchen is well kitted out with a pantry and laundry area. There is a dining room, open plan lounge and a large stoep area which tends to be the main living area. There is wifi throughout the house.
The superb Lowveld climate is pleasantly warm & dry in the winter months and can be hot in the summer with occasional thunderstorms. The house has ceiling fans, aircon and a plunge pool which makes keeping cool easy.
We are able to offer a maid and gardener/pool service weekly or daily and also basic food essentials can be pre bought for you. A hire car can be collected at Eastgate airport and we can arrange for you to be met from there and guided to the house. Showing you around the house and telling you all about the area is all part of the package and it is only a phone call away to give any help or advice during your stay.
There are several well signposted walking and off road biking trails for you to discover within the estate where you can take a picnic or enjoy a sundowner at one of the three dams. One of which has an excellent bird hide for our ornithological friends. We have off road bikes you may use and a table tennis table to wheel out and challenge your friends.
A full braai (barbecue) area is set up for outside cooking with wood all ready on site to use. As you sit outside on the stoep a variety of wildlife will wander past. Be it Zebra, Wildebeest or Nyala there is never a dull moment for wildlife enthusiasts. On the estate the Africa night sky is superb for star gazers as there is little extraneous light.
